Looking for committed Eucharistic Adorers

We are blessed at Notre Dame to have an extended time of Eucharistic Adoration here in our very own Mother's Chapel, Monday - Wednesday, 9am - 11pm.  Each hour is covered by at least one Adorer, but two is prefered, therefore we are in need of coverage for the following hours: Monday: 5-6pm, 6-7pm, 9-10pm. Tuesday 1-2pm, 8-9pm. Wednesday: 12-1pm, 2-3pm, 3-4pm, 5-6pm.

If you are willing to commit to an hour a week or every other week, or would like to just be a substitute, please call/text Jo Feeney at 724.699.3340.  If you have signed up in the past to be a sub and have not been contacted lately, please also reach out to Jo.

For those of you unfamiliar with Eucharistic Adoration, it is a time where the faithful pray to Jesus Christ, who, truly present in the Eucharist, is exposed in a monstrance.

The Eucharist, also referred to as the Blessed Sacrament, is typically kept in the tabernacle and while it is true that you can pray to God anywhere and that He is always within you, it is especially powerful to adore Jesus in the Eucharist. In the presence of the Eucharist, we pray to the power and sacrifice that it represents — the body of Jesus, who gave His life so that we may live.

It is His body, blood, soul and divinity that is really, truly, and substantially present in the Eucharist.

We adore and receive the Eucharist in communion at Mass, which is the most beautiful act of worship that we have as Catholics. We have Jesus truly present in all of the tabernacles around the world. We can continue to adore Him in the Eucharist after Mass in a quiet time of prayer and contemplation on Who we have just received . Being in the presence of the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ gives spiritual strength and nourishment in a uniquely powerful way.

If you would like to give Eucharistic Adoration a try for the first time and are unsure what to do while you are there, you have many options.  You can have a quiet conversation with the Lord, pray the rosary, read spiritual material, read the Bible and the list goes on.  For more ideas, check out these Adoration Resources.
