Parish Prayer-Line

Are you in need of some extra prayer?  At times, many of us find ourselves struggling with life’s unexpected challenges, changes at home or work, celebrating new life, and so much more.  People from our parish recognize the importance and power of prayer for our community. If you would like to join the list of prayer warriors, please call Kathy Higgins at 724-342-7858.  Whenever we receive a request for prayer, you will get a call asking for your prayers for that person in need.

O.W.L.S.

This special group of “senior” parishioners gathers several times per year to share a meal together.  The main course is provided and prepared by the loving hands of the OWLS organizers and served buffet style with side dishes and desserts brought and shared.

Watch the bulletin for the next OWLS dinner invitation (open to all) and plan to join us for a delicious meal and even better conversation and fellowship.  If you have questions or want to be sure you don’t miss the invitation, please call Ann Nicolls at (724) 962-7164 or send a text to (724) 854-6207 with your name and contact information and she will gladly add you to the list.

Small Group Faith Sharing

What better way to learn and share our faith in a community with 1,300 members than to meet in a small group setting to share the Word and our faith with one another. Notre Dame has been part of this experience since the early 1990s with numerous groups still meeting with their original small groups.  The Small Faith Sharing group Involves gathering (weekly or bi-weekly) to share the Gospel and discuss how we live out that Gospel as Disciples of Christ.  Would you like to join a small group of 8-10 people and grow in your faith? Call Kathy Higgins at (724) 342-7858 or the church office at (724) 981-5566.

The Rosary Altar Society

The Rosary Altar Society is a local chapter of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary. The primary purpose of the Rosary Altar Society is “to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary for the mutual spiritual benefit of all the members throughout the world.”

The only obligation of the members of the Confraternity is to pray the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary (Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious) once a week. The enrolled members also benefit from all the prayers and good works performed by the friars, nuns, sisters, and laity of the Dominican Order.

Meetings are held the first Sunday of the month from September to December and from March to June after the 11am Mass in the Founders Room at the Church of Notre Dame. The Rosary is prayed before this Mass starting at 10:25am.

The Rosary Team visits nursing homes twice a month to pray with residents in a common area.

Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 8 pm throughout the year, the Rosary Society Adoration/Prayer Group meets in the Adoration Chapel at Notre Dame Church for guided meditation and prayer.

Our Lady’s Rosary Makers make rosaries for those in need.

The Rosary Altar Society takes part in good works such as ‘The Shower for Baby Jesus’ and ‘Box of Joy’ for the poorest of the poor in developing countries through Cross Catholic Outreach. We also conduct Bake Sales, Advent Sock Collection, May Crowning and support our pastor and parish in various other activities throughout the year.

For more information or to join the Rosary Altar Society call the parish office at 724-981-5566.
